Monografien der Schwäbischen Ortschaften, vol. III

The primary aim of this series, as demonstrated by the authors of the last two volumes, is to present all Swabian communities in a "succinct and concise synthesis." The need for such compact monographs was highlighted as early as the 1970s by the historian Stefan Schmied (1919–1978). As a member of the Satu Mare Swabian diaspora in Germany, he felt the need to produce a concise work covering multiple settlements in the Satu Mare region.
